A lot of athletes forget that treatment can be just as important before they work out, as it is when they have finished for the day.
And after you are finished up for the day, trainers can help you out again. Most often times they can either supply you with heat or ice for your back injury. They will be able to assess your situation and let you know which one is the best option for you. This is something that you would have never been able to figure out on your own. They are also trained in knowing how long to apply the treatment to the affected area. Trainers also have access to other instruments that can help your back pain. Many trainers like athletes to go in the whirl pool in order to help relieve their back of stress. This has been proven effective time and time again, and can only be done by meeting up with your trainer. Ultra sound technology may also be able to help relieve you of back pain. Again, your trainer will know how to properly use this device, and can give you the treatment you need to get back on your feet.
By not visiting your trainer you are only inhibiting your ability to play at the highest level possible. Without the help of your trainer you will not be able to compete at your peak performance, and may also end up injuring your back even further. If this happens you will have to see your trainer anyway, but will have lost a lot of time.
Overall, your trainer is on staff to provide you with all of the medical assistance that you need in order to compete at a high level in your respective sport. By not taking advantage of this resource you are only slowing yourself down in the long run. Trainers have seen every type of back injury imaginable, and will have no problems at all getting you back on track.
