It is estimated that approximately 80% of people will have some sort of lower back problem during their life.  Most of the time these problems will go away with time and proper care, and not have any long last effects.

Your back is made up of bone, muscles, nerves and other soft tissues. Just about every move we make depends upon our back being healthy.  When something goes amiss it can severely hamper the person's lifestyle.

Unfortunately, back pain can happen to anyone, at any time. This pain can cause mild discomfort, to a very severe pain that seriously keeps the person from doing anything.

Common triggers for Back Pain include:

  • poor posture,
  • lack of exercise,
  • standing or bending down for long periods,
  • sitting in a chair that doesn’t provide enough back support,
  • sleeping on a bed that doesn’t provide enough back support,
  • lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling loads that are too heavy, or doing these things in the wrong way,
  • a trip or fall.
  • automobile accidents,
  • being overweight,

Many of these things can be avoided with proper training about protecting your back.

For Back Pain see a Chiropractor

If you are suffering from back pain that you cannot seem to get rid of there are a couple of options that you can take. Many people feel that if they simply rest their back, and take some pain medicine that they will be alright; and most of the time this is true. But the problem with this method of treatment is that your pain will almost always come back after you stop taking medicine, and get out of bed.

The reason that your back is hurting you is because one of two things. You either have an existing back condition that keeps flaring up, or you are doing something during your daily routine that is causing the pain.

In order to find out what is wrong with your back, and also solve your problem, you will want to schedule an appointment with a chiropractor. By doing this you will be able to find out exactly what is going on, and also find out what you need to do in order to prevent future problems.

The number one thing that people visit the chiropractor for is spinal manipulation. In other words, a chiropractor will be able to safely realign your spine. By doing this they can get you back on track, and on your way to a pain free back. But if you leave the office and go back to your normal ways, all of the spinal manipulation in the world could not help you.

Another advantage of seeing a chiropractor is that they can tell you what you are doing wrong, and why your back is hurting. This way, after you receive treatment you can change your ways, and hopefully keep your back in better shape.

Your chiropractor will also be able to give you exercises to do that can strengthen your back muscles. This is a great way to prevent future injury. By getting these exercises off of your chiropractor you know that they are specially designed to help out people that are suffering from your condition. Always make sure that you follow the proper form when you are performing these exercises. If you do not, you may end up hurting yourself even more in the long run.

If you are interested in getting other treatment on your back such as ultrasound, massage, or heat, your chiropractor can again come to your rescue. They are proficient in all of these fields, and will supply you with the treatment that they feel will work best for your condition.

And do not forget that your chiropractor will also be able to catch any major problems that you are having. They can then refer you to a specialist if they feel that it is necessary.

Overall, seeing a chiropractor is a must for anybody that is suffering from back pain. You may think that they cannot help you out in any way, but if you give a chiropractor a chance, you will find yourself at the office as much as one or two times a week!
