Prayer And Spirituality Used In The Treatment Of AIDS
Many people in today’s world believe in the power of prayer and spiritual intervention in medical conditions. People have used prayer and spiritual practices to aid in health treatment for thousands of years. Only recently
has the scientific world begun to take note of the power of prayer. Research is being conducted to see just how effective prayer is in helping a patient with a life-threatening disease.
The use of prayer and spiritual practices was confirmed by an enormous study that was conducted in the United States. According to this report, more than 36 percent of all Americans have used complimentary or alternative treatments for disease while not including prayer as an alternative. When prayer was added as one of the ingredients of complimentary and alternative treatments, more than 60 percent of those polled verified they had used alternative treatments and prayer to help with a medical situation.
Among those studied about 10 percent said they had taken part in a prayer group for medical reasons. 45 percent used prayer for health concerns and personal health reasons. More than 25 percent of those who took part in the study said they had asked others to pray for them. Prayer was the most commonly used alternative treatment. Other treatments included yoga, meditation, tai chi, and Reiki.
Studies prove there is a definite link between good health, mortality, and religious practices and affiliations. Some people use prayer and religion to help cope with the disease and ease the stress of treatment. Medical benefits can be a result of easing stress and how it affects the body. Researchers are studying the effects of personal, positive meaning and how it affects your health.

Homeopathic treatments for patients with the early stages of HIV and for patients with early stages of AIDS have been proven effective. Some homeopaths have been able to help patients in advanced stages of AIDS but these are not considered a normal result.
There are exceptions to this rule and some patients were given a better quality of life after receiving homeopathic treatment. The use of conventional drugs takes a toll on the body because of the many side effects. Conventional drugs can stop working if the virus becomes resistant to those drugs. An advantage to using homeopathic treatment is they can begin immediately when a patient starts displaying symptoms of opportunistic infections.
Homeopathy has a history for success in treating infectious diseases. Many of the most fatal infections have successfully been treated with homeopathic treatment. History shows patients treated with this natural therapy had lower death rates from diseases like scarlet fever, pneumonia, typhoid, and cholera.
Hospitals, prisons, and insane asylums experienced high success rates in treating patients with these diseases with homeopathic treatments. Homeopathic medicine is now being used to treat viral infections in the world today. |
Relaxation techniques and other forms of mind and body interaction are being studied to see if there are ways of strengthening conventional treatment with these stress-reducing activities. They are looking for answers to many questions about how alternative and complimentary medicines can hasten the healing process or slowing the progress of some diseases and infections.
Many of these complimentary or alternative treatments have been around for thousands of years. Recent studies have shown a direct relationship between coping and relaxation techniques to a better quality of life and improvements in health. Many of these complimentary and alternative treatments originated in the Far East. The culture believes there is a definitive link between the body and mind.
